Beijing Jishuitan Hospital，Capital Medical University was established in 1956, which is an exemplary Grade A tertiary hospital with orthopedics and burn care as its specialties. It has successively become the Fourth Clinical School of Peking University, the Clinical Teaching Hospital of Tsinghua University, the Affiliated Hospital of Capital Medical University and the seventh Clinical School of Medicine, and led the establishment of the Orthopaedic School and the Department of Burn and Wound Repair of Capital Medical University.

In 1959, Beijing Trauma Orthopaedic Research Institute was established, and in 2002, it became Beijing Trauma Burn Rescue Center. The hospital has 7 national key clinical specialties, including orthopedics, hand surgery, burn, sports orthopedics, emergency department ，the department of critical care medicine and the department of cardiology. In 2016, it was approved as Beijing Key Laboratory of Orthopedic Robot Technology. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, our hospital had rewarded as the orthopedic surgery robot Beijing Engineering Research Center, Beijing research ward demonstration construction unit, was selected as the first batch of project reserves of the national Emergency medical rescue base, became the national regional medical center construction project output hospital, and undertook the construction of three national regional medical center hospitals in Guizhou, Liaocheng and Zhengzhou. In 2022, it had approved as the National Center for Orthopaedic, aiming to become a world-class center for orthopaedic, guided by the international therapy frontier and the clinical demand of serious diseases. Focusing on the tasks of diagnosis and treatment of difficult and critical diseases, research on key technologies in medical science, high-level medical research and transformation of results, response to serious public health problems, training of high-level medical talents, international exchanges and cooperation, collaborative innovation of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, and construction of national regional medical centers, the functional positioning of national center for orthopaedic is implemented to promote the high-quality development of China's orthopaedic industry. In 2023, it had been approved as the Beijing orthopaedics professional committee member units and the director of the center for quality control and improvement. In 2024, approved by Beijing Health Committee, our unit became the trial reform of medical innovation and achievements transformation.
